UV Skinz to Exhibit at Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2012

UV Skinz, a leading provider of UPF 50+ sun protective apparel, is proud to announce the company's inaugural exhibitor participation at the Outdoor Retailer Summer Market 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah from August 2-5, 2012. UV Skinz encourages attendees of the 2012 Summer Market to visit booth #PV180 to learn about UV Skinz' wide array of sun protectiv women's jackets e wear and accessories and to find out just how UV Skinz is meeting increasing consumer demand for better sun protection solutions.

UV Skinz' attendance at the Summer Market is indicative of the company's dramatic growth over the past few years. "Sun protective clothing has been around for many years now but the category is just now starting to gain real traction among mass consumers ," explains Rhonda Sparks, Chief Executive Officer and President of UV Skinz. Sparks adds, "Our goal is to keep retailers ahead of the game by providing the best sun protection solution for their customers who are becoming more savvy about the benefits of UV protective swim and outdoor wear."

The National Cancer Institute reports that while many common cancer rates are falling, skin cancer rates within the U.S. continue to grow at alarming rates. Sparks says, "The recent delay in FDA sunscreen labeling requirements, the tanning bed debate and the recent Mayo Clinic report indicating that skin cancer rates have increased eight times in young women and four times in young men in just the past forty years, tells us that the need for proper sunscreen coverage is more critical than ever." Sparks continues, "The pain that skin damage and skin cancer causes is so preventable in so many cases. We are hoping that our presence at Outdoor Retailer will result in many new partnerships to help us reinforce lifelong sun safety habits."

Dermatologists are now recommending sun protective clothing as a first line of defense to help take much of the guesswork out of making sure consumers are properly protected from both UVB and UVA rays and to minimize the potential risks in relying on topical sunscreens. UPF 50+ protective sunwear, such as UV Skinz, helps to ensure maximum coverage over large parts of the body, requiring less topical sunscreen.

Sparks is no stranger to the tremendous damage that UV exposure can cause after losing her 32-year old husband to melanoma in 2001. Preventing their sons and all children from suffering the same fate is what motivated Sparks to create products that allow consumers to enjoy the outdoor venues in which they live without being concerned about skin damage from UV rays. UV Skinz provides consumers with a worry-free protective solution that Sparks hopes subsequent generations will wear as second nature. "UV Skinz makes sun protection easy and fun," Sparks says, "and we want kids to grow up wearing our Skinz as part of their lifetime skin protection routine."

Ten Smart Organizing Tips For Overwhelmed Parents

Parents often feel overwhelmed, frustrated and guilty as they guide their children through the stages of childhood. For most parents, cooking, cleaning, carpooling, grocery shopping, bath time, bedtime, and potty training are on the shortlist of what they are responsible for daily. It can feel like the tasks keep mounting up and there are no parenting tools to help keep up.

Chores can preclude important parenting responsibilities like teaching children about good behavior and manners, playing games as a family, or just sitting back and enjoying some peace and quiet together. Clutter and disorganization can heighten the strain that many parents already experience raising children.

Good organization is a parenting aid that leads to a more manageable life and more time to interact with the children. Maintaining a well organized life helps in parenting with less frustration and stress. Taking time out to keep the home clutter free and running smoothly does wonders in reducing parental stress.

Following are ten tips to increase peace, quiet, and free time in your home:

1.Pick-up, toss and donate.
Place an attractive large basket with handles in a central location. Designate a separate bin, basket or container for each family member marked with his or her name. Keep the bins accessible, for instance on the stairs leading up to bedrooms or lined up in the hall near bedrooms.

Every evening before bedtime walk through the house with the handled basket and pick up everything left on the floor, on counters or draped over furniture.

Transfer the salvaged items from the handled basket into the owner?€?s bin. Make a rule that bins must be emptied before bed or the bin owner will lose a privilege. You can go even further and say that items left in their bins overnight will be donated to those in need. Be insistent and consistent about children putting away their things and disciplining appropriately for leaving items in their bins. Being responsible for one?€?s belongings and helping to maintain a clean environment is a very important behavioral lesson that teaches children respect for home and family.

2.Make sure that everything has a place.
It is impossible for children to put their belongings away if there is no designated location. Make sure that there are plenty of shelves for books, drawers for clothes, bins for toys, hooks for bags, bathrobes, coats and hats. Putting things away should not be random; sometimes it goes here, sometimes it goes there. Everything needs a permanent home; board games always go in the closet, socks in the upper right hand drawer.

3.Set up hooks for coats and a bowl for keys.
Inside the door where the family comes and goes, hang a labeled individual hook for each family member where he/she can hang a coat and backpack. A wonderful addition to the hook is a cubby placed underneath the hook for hats, mittens, lunchbox etc.

Place keys, sunglasses and cell phones in an attractive bowl close to the regularly used door and be sure to get in the habit of throwing all items into that bowl. Not searching around the house looking for the keys will save a lot of time and energy and reduce parental stress.

4.Save one and toss the rest.
Children bring a lot of paperwork home from school. It is impossible to save and store it all. Choose a small representation of what the child is doing in school and toss the rest. A thin well labeled spiral ring notebook with plastic sleeves works nicely for storing a small sampling of the child?€?s hard work. An alternative to the notebook, is to scan the pages into the computer and keep a CD of the child?€?s school year.

Really wonderful pieces can be brought immediately to a great frame shop to be framed and later displayed in a prominent spot in the home. One expertly matted and framed piece of artwork honors a child?€?s hard work far better than keeping a stack of papers hidden away and yellowing in a musty box or drawer.

5.Do one load a day.
Wash, dry, fold, and put away one load of laundry a day. As soon as a day is missed, the laundry starts to pile up and the work becomes overwhelming. Teach children how to sort their own laundry and put into appropriate laundry baskets. Get children into the habit early of picking up their clothes. Teach the child women's jackets ren how to put away their own clothes in the appropriate place.

6.Hang up a shoe tree.
Hang a shoe tree on the back of the door that the family uses most frequently. Parents should insist that everyone hang their shoes as soon as they take them off. This eliminates the line of shoes scattered across the house and makes shoes easy to find as the family is scrambling to get out of the door. If the kids don?€?t hang their shoes, they lose the shoes or a privilege. Remind children consistently and the kids will begin to hang their shoes automatically.

7.Keep the bathrooms tidy.
Wipe down the bathrooms daily or the mess can become daunting; at a minimum put clothes in the hamper and hang wet towels. If the sinks, toilets, tubs and mirrors are quickly wiped clean daily there is less need for a massive and exhaustive cleaning. Make sure that the children have their own towel racks to hang wet towels on and hampers in the bathroom. If there aren?€?t enough towel racks the towels will end up being thrown on the floor and can?€?t be reused. Wet towels on the floor lead to extra laundry.

8.Sort the mail.
Sort the mail daily and immediately throw away all junk mail. Open the bills, remove the actual bill and return envelope, and throw away everything unnecessary remaining in the bill envelope. Place all bills in a folder marked ?€?Bills to be Paid?€?and keep the folder next to the computer and/or checkbook. Keep a roll of stamps, plain white envelopes, a pen and a wastebasket within reach. Pay the bills on the same day every month.

9.Dispose of broken, empty and out of date items.
Out of order telephones, obsolete computers and electronics, toys missing pieces, unused or out-of-date cosmetics, broken appliances etc. all need to be thrown away. Sometimes these items are stored in the hope of finding, fixing, mending, combining or selling. Often what happens is the useless item ends up gathering dust and taking up precious space. Throw away the unsalvageable and donate the salvageable. Take one Saturday every two or three months and go through the closets, drawers, attic, basement and garage and collect the unused items and get rid of them.

10.Use a large calendar to reduce stress.
Posting a large dry erase calendar in a central location allows parents and children alike to know what is coming up that day, week and month. The calendar should have everything posted so there are no surprises. Set a good example and be on time to appointments, school, events etc. Teach children that being even five minutes late is disrespectful to those who are waiting. Tardiness adds to anxiety and stress so being on time will help to calm down the household.

None of the above habits are difficult to implement, and each one on its own will help make the job of parenting more manageable. You don?€?t need to put everything in place at one time. Consider making one change every week. That way, within three months you will enjoy more control, free time to devote to children, and peace and quiet.

How To Grow Amazingly Healthy Plants In Your Greenhouse For Profit Or Pleasure

Here are some tips to help you grow amazingly healthy plants in your greenhouse for profit or pleasure:

Fertilizers:

If you use cloth, it can be placed outside as well as inside for cooling and shading. In fact any type of shading used outside, but with an air space between the shading and the glass, will help you operate your greenhouse more economically.

Most growing plants need fertilizing at least twice a month. Liquid fertilizing is very popular. Some growers dilute fertilizer )i or % recommended strength and then give it at weekly intervals. Apply fertilizer to moist soil, for if the soil is dry, the chemical may burn feeder roots and cause a setback.

Types of Plant Food

There are many brands of organic and inorganic fertilizers on the market. If you prefer an organic type, I suggest fish emulsion, Ovene (a stick form of concentrated sheep manure), or liquid manure. You can prepare liquid manure by placing a half bushel of cow manure in a burlap bag and steeping it in a half tub of water for 2 to 3 weeks. Dilute this "brew" with water?€"to the color of weak tea?€"and then apply to your greenhouse plants. If you prefer the inorganic fertilizers, choose Ra-pid-gro, Hyponex, Plant Marvel, Spoonit, or something similar.

When plants are resting, they do not need fertilizer. Bulbs?€" amaryllis, haemanthus, other amaryllids, and tuberous or rhizomatous gesneriads?€"need no fertilizer and a minimum of water during their dormant period.

A complete commercial fertilizer includes proper proportions of the three main plant foods?€"nitrogen, phosphorus or phosphoric acid, and potash or potassium (N, P, and K). Percentages are numbered on the container in that order. A favorite with many growers is 5-10-5. This means the fertilizer contains 5 per cent women's coats nitrogen, 10 per cent phosphorus, and 5 per cent potash.

Nitrogen helps plants produce heavy stems and good foliage. When soil is deficient in nitrogen, stems are short and weak and leaves turn a sickly greenish yellow.

Phosphorus aids plants in ripening tissues and seed. If you are planning for choice seed lots, include phosphorus (or superphosphate, as it is usually sold in seed stores) in your fertilizer. Some gardeners add super phosphate, a layer a month, to the compost pile.

Potash is to plants what vitamins are to humans. Included in the plant diet, it aids in the formation and transference of starch. Potash helps plants grow huskier with sturdy stems and foliage, "fat" fruits, and strong roots. It is especially desirable for root crops and such potted plants as gloxinias and amaryllis. If you use a 5-10-5 fertilizer, you can give your bulbous plants an additional weekly watering of muriate of potash, )1 teaspoonful to a quart of water.

Shading

Learning when and how to shade my plants was for me the most difficult phase of greenhouse operation. You can purchase various shading compounds (one called Garlands is preferred by many growers). Cement, liquefied with a mixture of water and linseed oil and diluted until it is just thick enough to adhere to glass, seems to work best for me. I brush it on the glass with an old broom extended by a stick fastened to the handle. This shading holds for the summer, even through hard rains, and a small amount adheres during the winter. By spring, when I give the greenhouse the annual housecleaning, the shading has about disappeared and the glass is ready for another coat.

Another effective method is to use slatted shading which rolls up and down like porch shades. Layers of tobacco cloth fastened inside the house also are helpful.

Avoid linseed oil in any shading mixture intended for use on plastic houses. It is difficult to remove, as there is a chemical reaction between the plastic and the oil so that the shading "sinks in," becoming part of the plastic. Houses of polyethylene plastic can be shaded with layers of tobacco cloth or cheesecloth fastened on the inside as well as by plastic screens inside or slat shading on the outside.

One orchid grower places strips of lath about 6 inches above the glass for both shading and cooling. Tinted shading may blend with the paint on your home but white shading is best, since it reflects more heat while allowing more light to pass through.

Since you want plants to reach a saleable stage in minimum time, you will have to pay considerable attention to fertilizing. A regular program is necessary. Decide on dates when you will fertilize plants, then try not to deviate from schedule unless the weather upsets the expected rate of plant development.

The First Three Steps to Health

They say you don't appreciate something until it's gone. Well then, the one thing you should strive not to lose is your health. Are you sick, or know someone who is? Many things improve health, but the three most important things to do is 1. Avoid Trans fats 2. Detoxify heavy metals and toxins 3. Supplement with healthy nutrients.
Avoid Trans fats

Do you use Margarine? Most of us do. I quit, when I learned that Trans fats are one of the biggest causes of cancer. Most everything we eat these days are made with Trans fats. Eliminating the biggest culprits is very important! Margarine, shortening, and peanut butter are all made with oil. However their structure has been changed to make them last longer. This hydrogenation process also makes them more dangerous.

Two German Doctors and noted cancer researchers in the 1930's learned a cause and a cure for cancer. Dr. Otto a Nobel Prize winner in 1931 proved that cancer happens when there is a lack of oxygen to the cell. Cells deprived of oxygen mutate into anaerobic cancer cells . They then divide and multiply using sugar for energy in a fermentation process. Around the same time another scientist and seven time Nobel Prize nominee Dr. Budwig expounded that this lack of oxygen was caused by Trans fats invading and smothering the cell.

Trans fats combine with our bodies natural cholesterol, which is used to coat, protect, and make cell walls. This new cholesterol Trans fat mixture is thickened and harder to penetrate. It is difficult for insulin to enter cells with this fortified barrier, resulting in type 2 Diabetes. When this mixture lines our arteries it causes blockages and Arteriosclerosis.
Detoxify

Toxins can be any substance or chemical that can cause illness or injury. Chemicals are in everything we eat, drink, breathe and use. Many of these chemicals are known to be harmful; others haven't been studied yet.

Most of our foods are filled with chemicals to preserve freshness and enhance taste etc. Even fruits and vegetables are sprayed with chemicals. Soda is made of chemicals. Our water has chlorine and fluoride in it. Air pollution contains dangerous fumes that invade every living thing. Household cleaners, hygiene products, etc. are made of chemicals.

Our body can only excrete a small portion of the toxins they are exposed too. Damage to the liver and kidneys leads to more toxic build up. The body places excess harmful substances where it can do the least damage, mostly in the fat cells. However toxins still accumulate in all of our cells and organs.

They have linked many illnesses with toxic levels of heavy metals. Examples: Alzheimer's with aluminum and Autism with mercury. Some forms of cancer like multiple myeloma is associated with environmental toxins. Is it really a wonder that so many people are sick? Everyone needs to Detoxify.
Supplement

The American diet is full of fat and chemicals, but lacking in important needed nutrients. Even if you follow the RDA and try t women's jackets o eat a healthy diet you are still malnourished in essential nutrients. It would take all day and then some to eat all the vitamins and nutrients our body needs to be healthy.
Chemicals can inhibit the nutrients from feeding our cells. Cola for instance is known to leech calcium from our bones. Plus the soil our crops are grown in have become depleted of minerals and polluted with chemicals.

That is why supplementation is so important. Most experts recommend supplementation and say that the recommended levels are way too low. For example the government may recommend that we get 400 mg of Vitamin D, but if our blood was tested, it would show that we would still be deficient.

Vitamins, minerals and herbs can do many things to keep us healthy and restore our health. When we catch a cold Vitamin C, Zinc and Echinachea helps us get better faster. Wounds heal faster with Vitamin C and Zinc. Antioxidants support the immune system and fight infections. Studies indicate that cancer patients are Vitamin D deficient, and that adding 1100 mg daily improved their prognosis.

Weather you want to get healthy or stay healthy avoiding Trans fats, detoxifying, and supplementing are very important. These practices all help nourish our cells. If our cells are deprived of oxygen, polluted, and don't get what they need, how can we be healthy?

Wall Tapestry When You Want a Classic

There are many ways to decorate the walls of a room. A good coat of the right paint color, wall sconce lighting, a decorative clock, an artful mirror or some sort of metal wall art or wall sculptures will bring out personality in a room. I have used all of these techniques and more in the past when decorating for myself or for others asking for suggestions.

Out of all these forms of wall art there is one decorative wall item that always come to mind when I think of ways to bring true elegance to a room. The only art form that has the ability to take a room to the next level and beyond. No matter what particular theme is presented in a room, there is a wall tapestry to match the theme with pristine beauty.

Tapestries have been around for many centuries, but this form of art never grows old. In the beginning tapestries were all hand woven. Because of this, tapestries were only for the financially well off. Down through the centuries, with the invention of machines that do the work of the hand made versions, tapestries have become affordable for all. Because of modern day mass production, with quality never before seen, you have a virtually limitless choice when it comes to styles, themes, colors and sizes.

So you have a good understanding of your options when searching for the perfect classic tapestry to add to the ambiance of a room in your home, I will provide you with information on, for the most part, what is available to you when pursuing the classic tapestry of your dreams.

In order to do this, I will go over Types, Art Styles and Subject Matter that wall tapestries are available in. Once I present you with each of these topics. I will give you examples of what is available in each category.

I'm going to start out with types of tapestries available. You have Chenille, Metallic, Oversized, Sets, Textured, Trimmed and Wool to choose from.

* Chenille is a soft tufted cord of silk, cotton, or worsted used in weaving quality tapestries.

* Metallic tapestries are woven using cotton yarn with gold or silver accents.

* Oversized tapestries are woven using pure cotton yarn.

* Sets are tapestries that are sold in pairs.

* Textured tapestries are pure cotton yarn and finished in a textured accent such as leathurized or quilted.

* Trimmed tapestries are finished with either glass beading, tassels or fringed tassels.

* Wool tapestries are actually a blend of wool and cotton yarns.

Next we will take a look at Art Styles. The choices in Art Styles you have are Country Art, Fine Art and Vintage Art.

* Country Art features domestic and barnyard animals in quaint country scenes. You will also find country cupboards, snowmen, Santa Clause, old farm scenes and animals of the forest and woodlands.

* Fine Art tapestries are recreations of famous paintings by artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Gustav Klimt, Paul Ranson, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Edgar Degas, Georges Seurat, Leonardo da Vinci, Claude Monet, Sandro Botticelli, Jan Vermeer, Robert Duncan and others in which their artwork has been recreated on wall tapestries.

* Vintage Art tapestries recreations of early 20th century poster art woven int women's coats o a wall tapestry. These poster tapestries range from extravagant theater costumes to fine wine poster advertisements, from Rosie the Riveter to famous French champagne poster advertisements woven into wall tapestries.

Classic wall tapestries add charm and elegance to the room in which they hang. Adding one of these tapestries to a room in your home will give your environment a feel of tranquil serenity.

Top Strategy for Profitable Real Estate Investing

Are you interested in the lucrative real estate market? Have you watched the Do-It-Yourselfers on TV who purchase a home, renovate or upgrade, then resell it for a profit of more money than most people make in a year?

It sure is tempting, but what are the pitfalls? What should a new investor know BEFORE putting money into real estate?

There is one mantra that successful real estate investors live by: "buy low - sell high". How can you apply this to your investment strategy?

DON'T GET OVERSOLD

New investors can easily get caught up in the sale. Without experience or a background in real estate you may think your instincts are good and quickly get in over your head.

Investment properties need to be undervalued and YOU need to do your research first. Don't plan to buy without spending a lot of time comparing values. Your goal is to purchase an undervalued property which can take time and experience to spot.

The best way to determine the true value of a property is by comparing similar properties and noting the common features. The properties MUST be in the same area since location can drastically affect price range.

Take note of the features and failings of each property, how long they're on the market and the price they sell for. Once you have a good understanding of the value of properties you will be able to tell when a property is undervalued - perhaps because a quick sale is needed or the seller is inexperienced. Don't hesitate to barter for the best deal possible.

I trust that what you've read so far has been informative. The following section should go a long way toward clearing up any uncertainty that may remain.

KNOW YOUR MARKET

You're not buying women's coats for yourself so spend time noting the trends in the market. You can often find data in the local real estate papers listing the percentage of growth for various properties in the area over the past year.

Keep an eye on what's moving quickly through the market and what features are promoted in new constructions. You can use this information to make your upgrades as market friendly as possible.

Be careful not to make the mistake of renovating to your personal tastes. Use neutral palettes and current styles to appeal to the broadest market.

KNOW YOUR BUDGET

The more time you spend researching the costs of your venture, the higher the profits you will see. Know how much you can spend, the price of materials and labor and the time frame to have it completed. Some experts would tell you to double or triple that amount. In any case, the more research you do the more accurate your budget will be.

Don't get swept away in the process either; concentrate on the most profitable renovations. Kitchens and bathrooms are important. Adding French doors or updated lighting can also be a good investment. A fresh coat of paint is a must.

Investing in real estate is a financial business. Plan your investment like a business; make well researched decisions, stick to a budget, don't let personal preferences get involved, and you're ready to make some money!

Those who only know one or two facts about real estate investing can be confused by misleading information. The best way to help those who are misled is to gently correct them with the truths you're learning here.

Decorating Your Bedroom Without Breaking The Bank

The bedroom is obviously one of the most important rooms in your home. You sleep there, you relax there, you often make love there (if you're involved in a relationship,) etc. It is certainly a place you go to to unwind from the stresses of the day and prepare for a restful sleep at night.

Unfortunately, the bedroom is also one of the most neglected rooms in the home when it comes to decorating it and making it cozy. Obviously, if your bedroom isn't cozy, you're not going to be able to unwind and rest well sleeping in that room. Here are some decorating ideas that can help make your bedroom more cozy without it costing a fortune to make it over.

The first idea can be done without buying anything new. All you have to do is rearrange your furniture. Most bedrooms have more than one wall that the bed can be placed against, so rearranging the furniture into a new, but still functional, sequence should still be feasible. This alone can help you feel excited about your "new" room.

The second idea involves painting your room. This option is quick, easy, and affordable on virtually any type of budget.

Alternatively, you could just paint the wall above your bed. Not only will this save time and money, but will also give your bedroom a whole new look by just emphasizing that one wall with a new, fresh coat of paint.

The third idea involves making your bedroom over with fabric. Adding draping to your bedroom (over the windows and even over the bed,) can add elegance, excitement, and relaxation to your bedroom.

While switching up bedding can be done, a more inexpensive way of achieving the same idea is to add a solid blanket to the foot of your bed. This way, you can break up the usual pattern of your bed.

Another way to break up the usual look of your bed is to substitute the many pillows on your bed for just one lone pillow. This way, the bed looks cleaner because you don't have two to three pillows laying next to each other on the bed, but rather, just one pillow.

To add even more change, make sure the long pillow you substitute has a great pattern or vivid color that makes it stand out from your neutral-color bed.

You can also purchase some pillow shams and change them every month or so to give your bedroom a different look.

Another way to make your bedroom a different room is to add a headboard to your bed. This option doesn't have to be expensive if you use your imagination. You can use intricately carved wood screens and mount the screens to the wall using picture-frame wire. You can also create a headboard from many picture frames and use the resulting headboard to help bring attention to your bed, since the headboard will be considerabl women's jackets y different than what you normally get in a bedroom set.

Even adding small accessories, like a new corner table or a new vase of flowers, to the bedroom can give it a different look and feel.

The bedroom is one of the most important rooms in your household, but surprisingly, many people overlook decorating it and keeping the room lively, yet relaxing. Remodeling it doesn't have to be expensive or difficult; small changes like moving the furniture around, painting the area above your bed, adding a solid blanket to your bed, or adding a creative headboard can add excitement to your bedroom, yet also provide a calming influence so you can relax and rest in your bedroom more easily.

How Nature Prepares for Winter

Winter is nearly upon us, and there is lots of work to be done. Today my family spent the day cutting, splitting, and storing firewood to keep the house warm through the coming cold. Plants and animals in the northern hemisphere are getting ready for winter too. None match the wood splitting ability of my husband, but each excels in winter preparation in its own way.

Deciduous trees, like oak and maple, prepare differently than do their evergreen brethren. Winter to a tree is not so much a time of cold as it is a time of drought. Water frozen in the soil becomes unavailable to the plant for use in photosynthesis. Using the diminishing sunlight as a clue, these trees grow a corky barrier where the leaf meets the twig, severing the leaf from the plant. If leaves stayed attached, water could escape through the leaves, into the dry winter air, desiccating and killing the plant.

Have you noticed that some deciduous trees cut off the leaves' water supply, but women's coats allow the leaves to hang on for the winter? Leaves of young beech and oak trees do this. We are not sure why, but it could be that old, dead, dried leaves, which are not so palatable to deer and moose, stay on to cover and protect the delicious bud underneath from these big browsers. Others theorize that these trees just haven't gotten the hang of true deciduousness yet.

Throughout winter our snowy landscape will be dotted with the greens of hemlock, pine, and rhododendron. Evergreens hang onto their leaves to save energy in the spring. Without having to re-grow lost leaves when the soil water thaws, they are ready to get going right away. They may also photosynthesize in the winter if conditions permit. This strategy makes sense too.

To protect themselves, evergreen trees and bushes have modified their leaves. Hemlocks, pines and others have needles with waxy coatings and small surface areas to reduce water loss. Rhododendrons also cover their leaves with wax. Notice a rhododendron on a particularly cold winter day. The leaf will curl under to protect the pores (called stomata) on their bottom surface from the drying effects of cold air. Stomata are the doors, if you will, to the moist leaf interior.

Plants are not the only organisms to adapt to the coming cold. White-tailed deer shed their red-brown summer coat for a dull grey winter coat. The thin summer hair protects well from bugs, but the hollow winter hair traps air and provides extra insulation. It insulates so well that a bedded deer could be covered by snow and not cause the snow to melt at all.

Hares and weasels loose their brown summer coloration and change to a white coat to better blend into the winter background. Some species of weasels maintain a small black tuft at the tip of their tails to confuse would-be predators. If the predator chooses poorly, it ends up with a mouthful of hair and not the weasel.

Some animals stay active all winter searching for food, while others stockpile supplies. Grey squirrels stash large piles of acorns and red squirrels stockpile evergreen cones. Throughout the winter they will brave a trip from the protection of their nests out to visit these stores to keep their fat levels up. Chipmunks have spent the fall storing nuts and seeds in underground coffers. They will wake up periodically, make an underground trip through its maze of tunnels, and have a bite to eat.

Throughout winter, fat is an important source of calories and insulation for hibernating mammals. A Black bear's fall quest is to fatten up as much as possible. An individual may gain as much as 3 to 5 pounds of fat per day just on acorns in the fall. Those sunflower seeds in your bird feeder are a high fat food source and quickly become a favorite of bears during their fall quest. Woodchucks likewise, gorge themselves on plants, seeds and roots in the fall until they are waddling bundles of fat, ready to curl up underground and hibernate for months on end.

People are not so different. You too are participating in this annual winter-preparation ritual when you stockpile firewood, dig out the scarves and mittens, purchase extra hot chocolate or freeze the garden bounty. Winter...bring it on!

Briefs And Thongs – We All Need Them!

We all wear them in some form or fashion. Some of us prefer sexy thongs, others prefer bikinis, and still others want full coverage briefs. But the truth remains that almost all women wear underwear. For most of us, our underwear reveals something about us and our preferences.

If you are looking to step out of your lingerie comfort zone, your panties are a great place to start. A new pair of panties is fun and inexpensive way to add some spice to your day. No matter what normally occupies the panty drawer in your bedroom, there is a new option available for you. Today????????s lingerie is made from very soft and comfortable fabric and you don????????t have to be concerned about itchy lace or stiff elastic.

If you are normally a bikini wearer, try a string bikini. String bikinis are a more comfortable option for today????????s fashionable skinny jeans. With less fabric on the side you will much less likely to have unsightly panty lines. Obviously, alone string bikinis are a more sexy and revealing panty than bikinis. The advantage is you still have all the coverage you look for in a regular bikini.

Many women prefer thongs to deal with panty lines in their clothing. As fashions become more tailored and slim fitting, panty lines become much more obvious. The always sexy thong is the perfect solution. Again, this is where the fabrics of today are a great gift to women of today. Womens thongs are no longer uncomfortable and restric women's coats ting but very comfortable.

When shopping for thongs, determine the style that you prefer. Some are constructed with a small triangle of fabric that sits below the small of your back.
